Projects

The Projects feature allows for the linking of multiple cases throughout MAGNET into a single Project for better management.

This feature can be useful when a project requires multiple permits on different departments, or when dealing with a large project, like a subdivision, to keep all information together and easily identifiable.

Project Selection Dialog

The Project Selection Dialog is available is available in the top left portion of the screen, and is collapsed by default, unless a project is currently selected.

To view the dialog, click on the down arrows:

This dialog will show the current selected Project(if applicable), clear the current selection, select a project, or create a new Project.

If a Project is currently selected, the Project Selection Dialog will always display the name of the selected Project

When a Project has been selected, all Data Grids in MAGNET will automatically filter the data to only show cases related to this Project. If you would like to clear this filter, click on the down arrows on the Project Selection Dialog and click on the Clear button

Select a Project

If no Project is Selected, you can select a Project, by typing in the first field and selecting any of the options that are returned from the auto suggestions

Create a Project

If you need to create a new Project, this can be done during case creattion (See Creating/Linking Projects below) or from the Project Selection Dialog.

To create a Project, simply type the name in the second text box and click Create

This will create the new Project and automatically select it for you.

Case Creation

When creating a new case, you should see a Project section at the top of the application. This section allows you to link this new case with a new or existing project.

If this is a new project, set the Project Type to “New” and type the name of the project in the Project field.

If this case is for an existing project, start typing the name of the project this case belongs to, to see a list of available matching projects.

Once identified, click on the applicable project to assign it to this new case.

If this case is not part of a project, simply leave the Project field blank

Changing/Removing Project

If a case was accidentally connected to the wrong project,or should not have been added to a project in general, you can manage the Project linking in the Select Action… > Change/Remove Project dialog

Clicking on “Clear” will remove this case from the current selected project.

To add this case to a different Project, simply begin typing the name of the Project in the New Project field and select the appropriate Project from the list.

A Project must already exist for you to reassign an existing case to a Project.

Projects Module

The Projects module is typically accessed by selecting Projects from the navigation menu

This will take you to the Project Data Grid.

In this grid, you can view and filter and current Projects.

Clicking on a Project will bring up the Project Management Screen.

This screen provides an overview of all cases, by section, that are attached to this Project. As well as the overall Project status and any other configured additional information for projects.

View Tab

This is the default tab that allows for viewing of Project Information

Edit Tab

This tab allows users with permissions to modify Project information

Fees Tab

This tab allows for viewing all fees or individual case fees for any case that is part of this Project
