In some situations, it may be necessary to delete a case in MAGNET.

This can be done by selecting the Delete Case option from the Select Action menu.

This option is controlled by permissions. If you do not have access to this option, please contact your manager to have them request MAGNET Support to make this permission available to you.

After selecting this option MAGNET will confirm your intention of deleting the case

WARNING

Deletion of a case is final. The case cannot be recovered without restoring system backups and there will most likely be data loss to the case. Restoring deleted cases is not covered by standard support and additional professional services charges will apply.

Exceptions

(As of v6.3)

There are situations where a case cannot be deleted.

If a case has fees that have been paid, the system will not allow the deletion of the case until the fees have first been refunded. This is to preserve accounting records, and to prevent money from being collected, then being excluded from reports due to deleting the case. If you attempt to delete a case with paid fees, after confirming the delete, you will receive the following message:

This error cannot be bypassed. A case with paid fees is not eligible for deletion.
